1. Director Lands, Housing & Urban Planning

J/G ‘R’

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Officer, the officer will be responsible for;-

  • Coordinating all the activities of the Department
  • Overseeing and coordinating the implementation of work plans, strategies and program plans
  • Coordinating and Organizing stakeholder’s forums to identify needs and to monitor and evaluate implementation
  • Coordinating preparation of detailed departmental Land use reports
  • Coordinating research and mapping of Land use patterns
  • Coordinating drawing of strict guidelines and regulation on building structures

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Driving assigned motor vehicles
  • Carrying out routine checks and maintenance of the vehicle
  • Maintenance of work tickets
  • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of the vehicle systems
  • Carrying authorized passengers and/ or goods and ensuring their safety
  • Carrying out first aid, cleanliness and overall vehicle maintenance and management

Requirements

  • KCSE Mean grade D plain
  • A valid driving licence free from any current endorsements
  • Suitability tests conducted by the Ministry of Roads and Public Works.
  • Occupational trade test conducted by the Ministry of Roads and Public Works.
  • A valid certificate of good conduct
  • Defensive driving certificate from Automobile Association of Kenya (AA)

4. Education Coordinators – 25 positions

The County Government of Bomet through the Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill vacant positions in the following Departments:-
Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Sub County Education Coordinator, the Education Coordinator, will : –
  • Supervise and ensure provision of quality assurance services regarding ECDE & VTC services in the ward.
  • Oversee implementation of teacher management issues such as staffing, discipline, transfer, annual leave etc
  • Coordinate inspection of schools to ensure required standards are maintained
  • Monitor, evaluate and review policies on standards and relevance in Early Childhood Development and Education in the Ward
  • Check on staff performance and performance management in ECDE & VTC centres in the ward.
  • Review curriculum that is recommended in ECDE & VTC facilities and ensure appropriate methods are used.
  • Ensure health and nutrition programs are offered in ECDE centres in the ward.

  • Must be conversant with the current trends in Education and training Curriculum development procedures, research practices, VTCs code of conduct and ethics.
  • Computer literacy is a mandatory requirement
  • Applicants must have a working experience in Technical institute or equivalent for a minimum period of 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Sub County Education Coordinator, the Manager will: –
  • Manage programs within the policies and procedures of the organization
  • Develop a program evaluation framework to access the strengths of the program and identify areas of improvement
  • Plan delivery of overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and goal of the organization
  • Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Develop and implement long term goals and objective to achieve the successful outcome of the program
  • Develop funding proposals for the program to ensure continuity in delivery of service

6. Assistant Director Vocational Training Centre

Requirements

  • Be conversant with County Government operations and demonstrate understanding of policies on VTC.
  • Relevant experience of least 7 years

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director Vocational Training Centers (VTCs), the officer will be responsible for: –

  • Coordinatingthe establishment of functional board of County Youth Polytechnics
  • Facilitating the promotion of innovative initiative and business incubations in Vocational Training
  • Managing and coordinating the development of the County bursary fund and its database
  • Coordinating the programmes, projects and activities for VTC
  • Offering guidance and counselling to the youth in the polytechnic in order to build good character traits among them.
  • Ensuring preparation of schemes of work, lesson plans and training materials
  • Ensuring the development and maintenance of assets and skills inventories in VTC
